How do we know the new plan to reform the electoral college in Virginia is a good idea? Liberals such as Virginia State Senator Don MacEachin are already hysterically blaming the Koch Brothers for the initiative in an attempt to sink it.
Are those fears founded in anything resembling reality? Not at all. Neither the Kochs themselves nor any Koch-related organization has come out in support of the initiative.
But that’s not the only way in which the Left is off it’s rocker on this issue:
In his hysteria McEachin fails to mention that his own Democratic Party introduced the same idea—many times—in the Virginia Legislature during the period in which it seemed no Democrat would ever again carry the commonwealth for president.
This sort of hysteria must be flattering for the Koch Brothers, though – if the Left assumes that they’re behind every effective idea the Right has, that’s certainly a compliment to them.
